LUKE
(9-21-11) My precious Luke went to the Rainbow Bridge today. Dr. Branscum came to our house, and Luke was able to lay in my bed (which was his favorite place to be) when he transitioned. He was a 3 yr old puppy mill rescue I fostered who just stayed for the next 11 years. I will miss his dancing into the great room and his gentle nature. I love you Luke. Janice Mitchell, beloved Mom.

MAX (10-29-11)
Beloved Max came along with his fursister Jewel to bless my home with his unique personality on June 19, 2007 at the age of 10. He was stiff and slow, his coat was dry & ratty and his tail was very thin for a Sheltie. With good food & regular brushing, his coat became soft, silky & shiny and his tail became bushy and his stiffness disappeared. He was insecure when 4 months later I had to put him in day care while I took a trip, thinking that I was abandoning him. He was elated when I came back, dancing around in ecstasy! Then he knew he had a forever home and blessed me for 4 years and 4 months until cancer grew in his shoulder causing him severe pain. The day came and he understood that he was soon to be crossing the bridge. All he wanted was to be in contact with me. I took him onto my lap and he relaxed in perfect peace. I stroked him promising the pain would soon be gone. But he blessed me and honored me, thanking me for the last 4 years and 4 months as he crossed the bridge safe secure and pain free.
They need someone to shed a tear Auntie Linda? I have lost track of the number as they are flowing as I write. I will forever have the memory of his expressive eyes as he trotted to me when called, in anticipation of "What have you got for me Mom?" Or the intense desire to be in my lap as he passed and the contentment of being there. And the incredible feeling he gave me in honoring me as he passed.
Do not ever think these dogs do not understand your heart in adopting them. They appreciate having a safe and secure forever home. You will forever be blessed for your efforts. But this is not about us, that would be selfish. It is about making the last few years of their lives better than the first few. The blessings you receive in return are multiplied many times over what you have given. God gave dogs their unconditional love to reflect His love for us. Blessed when we return that love to them... You betcha!
Run pain free and happy beloved Max my lion king and thank you for blessing me.

DAYLAN
Nov 2011.   My sweet little guy.. I can't say how sorry I am..SO sorry that darn cancer got into your leg and I couldn't do anything. I wish you were here by me right now. I love you. You barked at anything and everything, that was OK because I loved you. I miss your bark...I miss you. My sweet little boy, to see your precious brown eyes, to hear your little "noises" when you were petted, to see you play with the "chicken". At least I won't see pain in those beautiful eyes of yours. God speed my little "goomer" Love always,  Mom Patty
