JENNI  POOH is currently our POSTER  DOG.......what she's endured prior to getting here is both saddening and unacceptable.   Picked up as a stray, Jenni's family was eventually identified, only to find out that she had been viciously injured several days earlier, then dumped because a family member did not want to spend the money to take her to the Vet for care. 

 

Jenni's  first stroke of good luck was when her original family surrendered her at the Shelter, alowing her to come into Sheltie Rescue.  Since her arrival, her gaping neck wound  healed unbelievably in one month time.  On a less than lucky note, she alos tested  heartworm positive and is now undergoing that treatment.

 

There has not been one person who has met her that hasn't immediately fallen in love with  her bubbly and outgoing, often demanding  "PET ME"  personality .  Sure, Jenni's  had some rough times in her past, but she obviously  did not come out of this  ALL SO  NEGLECTED  PAST emotionally harmed OR she's the most forgiving soul one could imagine meeting.  

 

Jenni's medical care has certainly topped what  normal rescue vetting entails, so, if you can make a donation to her care, SSR and JENNI POOH would be very grateful.  The link is on the front page of our web-site.

PROCESS OF ADOPTION: 

After we have had time to review your application and check references, we will be back in touch with you.  This is a totally volunteer organization; therefore please allow at least 48 hours for us to get back with you. If at that time you have NOT gotten a reply, please e-mail us as your application may not have arrived. (ALL APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACKNOWLEDGED, WHETHER APPROVED OR NOT.)

After your submitted application has been processed, references checked and approved, a HOME VISIT will be scheduled after which time arrangements will then be discussed regarding meeting your potential new family member.

Adoption fees range from $150-$275, based on the age/adoptability of each specific dog.  HOWEVER, please inquire about our SENIOR  SANCTUARY PROGRAM  if you are open to adopting a dog in double digit years.  We believe these SPECIAL individuals and families deserve even more consideration/support and we make every effort to make these adoptions a WIN WIN for both our DOG and POTENTIAL FAMILY.

AS WITH ALL OUR DOGS, A SECURELY FENCED YARD IS MANDATORY. THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE LEFT OUTDOORS WHILE NO ONE IS AT HOME TO SUPERVISE.  FURTHERMORE, WE  DO NOT SHIP OUR DOGS.  ALL ADOPTIVE FAMILIES MUST BE WILLING TO COME HERE TO MEET THEM WITH ALL THE MEMBERS OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD, INCLUDING ANY OTHER 4 LEGGED KIDS (DOGS) TO ENSURE COMPLETE COMPATABILITY,  A SUCCESSFUL ADOPTION AND A HAPPY FUTURE!
